A200 Mastertunings

Hereunder you can see and download each of our Mastertunings by pressing the blue icon. The tunings variations are described with the Stock tuning as a baseline. Do NOT use these on other speakers than the A200.

All Flat (Stock)

All Flat aims to deliver a very flat and neutral response. The bass begins to roll off at 40 Hz and reaches -6 dB at 28 Hz. It can still provide an output of 93 dB at 1 meter before limiting begins to affect the bass response.

This is a very well-rounded tuning, offering plenty of SPL for most rooms while still delivering satisfying bass performance.

All Flat -1dB tweeter

Same as the All flat, but here with reduced treble to follow the normal estimated in room trend. So if you find the All flat a little too bright, then this would be your choice.

Extra details

The little extra sparkle and “detail” at the top end of the frequency range. It's known that we do lose our sensitivity in the higher frequencies as we get older, this could compensate for that as well. Or if you generally like a brighter presentation.

Forward Midrange

Based on the flat mastertuning, but with a bit more focus on the midrange. This is excellent if you prioritize vocals when listing to music.

Wall filter

Optimized for speakers placed close to boundaries, which aims to compensate for lost clarity. This can be an issue when placing the speakers close to a wall due to a gain in the lower frequencies. We say that close to a wall is under 20-25cm from the back of the cabinet.

3-Way low latency (coming soon)

If you need super-low latency for live instrument playback in a studio environment, this is the mode for you.

It changes the speaker from its normal 2.5-way operation to a true 3-way configuration, meaning the front woofer handles only the midrange while the rear woofer handles the bass. This limits deep bass reproduction, but it can also be a useful tuning when using a subwoofer, especially if maximum SPL is not required.

Cardioid (Coming soon)

Cardioid is a pretty big subject. Basically, we use the rear woofer to cancel out lower frequencies from 90–300 Hz, a range where speakers are normally omnidirectional.

This greatly reduces the room's interaction with the speakers and results in a much cleaner presentation of the bass and lower midrange.

This also allows you to place the speakers very close to wall boundaries while still maintaining an open, "free" sound. So if you're using them on a bookshelf or placing them close to walls, give this a try.Be sure to run any room correction with the speakers set to All Flat first, and then switch to this mode after the room-correction filters have been applied.

Fullrange

This bends the laws of what should be possible in a small speaker like this. It delivers a flat response from 28 Hz all the way up and is only -2 dB at 24 Hz. Obviously, you shouldn't expect this tuning to perform well at high SPL levels, as it will automatically limit the bass as the volume increases. However, for apartment use or simply low-level listening, this is extremely impressive!

Hi-pass 60hz

Designed for subwoofer integration when your preamp does not offer high-pass filtering. This tuning reaches -6 dB at 60 Hz, with a 4. order roll-off beginning at around 100 Hz.

It provides significantly more headroom for the A200, as the speaker no longer has to reproduce much of the sub-bass range.
